The Annual SSBA Dinner
Representatives from across the UK Maritime Industry congregated in Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza on Tuesday 12th November to mark the 105th annual fundraising dinner of the Scottish Shipping Benevolent Association. We were delighted to be in attendance with many of our colleagues and clients to enjoy this fantastic industry event.

For over 100 years, the SSBA has been there to support people who have current or past links to the shore side maritime sector in Scotland. In addition, they offer financial support to people experiencing hardship via a number of other charities including the Scottish Nautical Welfare Society.
Our guests were treated to a delicious three course dinner, followed by speeches from Sir Michael Bibby and SSBA President Captain Alistair McLundie. Former Scotland Goalkeeper Alan Rough rounded the evening off with highly entertaining tales from his time with Partick Thistle and Hibernian Football Clubs.
The fundraising raffle which included fantastic prizes such as limited-edition Whisky, cases of wine, rounds of golf and luxury gifting raised over £4000 for the charity.
Huge thanks to the SSBA committee for creating another fantastic event.
