Our client is currently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join one of their RoPax vessels as a Senior Chief Engineer. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the smooth management and operation of the Engine Department, while maintaining strong cooperation and communication with all other departments onboard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and performance of all engineering systems. They will lead and support the Engine Department team, promoting a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the vessel. The Senior Chief Engineer will also be expected to ensure full compliance with company fleet regulations, and statutory requirements, while working closely with the Deck and Onboard Services departments to maintain efficient vessel performance.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least 5 years of experience sailing as a Chief Engineer on RoPax or RoRo vessels. The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in team leadership, technical problem-solving, and operational excellence. Valid and up-to-date STCW certification and ENG1 medical are required, and applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom as the vessel operates between two UK ports.
This position is offered on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation, with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate. Successful applicants can expect to have their STCW and medical renewals covered, along with paid travel for joining and signing off the ship and excellent remuneration.
