Identifying Fraudulent Job Offers

Sep 11 2025

We have been notified that individuals are impersonating Clyde Marine Recruitment, making fraudulent job offers and requesting payment for a medical certificate – THIS IS NOT CMR, IT IS A SCAM.

These offers are usually via Whatsapp messages, though we have also seen posts on reputable job sites. We appreciate this can make it difficult to work out if the job is genuine, however you must verify the individual you are communicating with and NEVER send money.

If you have been contacted by an individual claiming to be from CMR and you are unsure of the validity of this job offer, there are a number of ways you can confirm through official channels. We would recommend that you check out our people page, is the recruiters’ name there? Check the email address, is it from an @clyderecruit.com email? If you are still unsure please read on for more ways to verify the validity of a job offer.
