Clyde Marine Recruitment are assisting Argyll and Bute Council with a vacancy for a Boat Master for the Jura vehicle ferry which operates between Port Askaig, Isle of Islay and Feolin, Isle of Jura.

This is a permanent, full time SLGE9 post, 37 hours plus 4.5 hours contracted overtime per week. Shift work pattern is under review with the intent to move onto a rotating 7 days on, 7 days off shift pattern. You will be expected to take part in the out of hours bookable sailings and standby callout provisions to support emergency services.

Rate of pay for above £42,854 – £46,064 (depending on experience) which includes a market supplement for the post. Additional allowance of £95.42 is payable for full week on standby cover.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum Tier 2 Level 2 Boat Master Licence with passenger endorsement, an ENG1 medical certificate, STCW Fire prevention & fire fighting, STCW Personal survival techniques and STCW Elementary first aid certificates.
